Explorando o Valor do Zinco SHG: Uma Janela para a Durabilidade

Exploring the Value of Zinc SHG: A Window into Durability

Zinc SHG, an admirable element, exhibits remarkable resistance to corrosion in diverse environments. Whether under the aggressiveness of humid, acidic air or sea air, Zinc SHG maintains its integrity. This valuable feature makes it a prime choice for corrosion protection of metal surfaces such as steel and cast iron. The application of this resource is notable in the Hot Dip Galvanizing process, a widely used method.

The coating's intrinsic ability to form stable oxide films allows it to not only protect the surface by itself, but also cathodically defend the steel in situations of coating discontinuity. This happens because Zinc SHG has higher electronegativity than steel.

Associated with low fusion, Zinc SHG is enriched with aluminum and other elements, forming the popular alloy commercially known as Zamac. Its mechanical, physical and casting properties make it a privileged choice in the pressure casting process.

Furthermore, its high ductility makes it possible to mechanically shape it above 100 ºC, expanding its applications. But the story doesn't end here.

Discovering the Numerous Applications of Zinc SHG

Zinc Oxide : Extracted from Zinc SHG, Zinc Oxide appears with remarkable purity (minimum 99.995%). With excellent thermal, electronic, chemical and optical properties, it is used in various industrial areas, from the vulcanization of rubber to the manufacture of cosmetics, medicines and ceramic glazes.

Special Alloys : The ZN4 alloy, containing aluminum, allows for more homogeneous hot galvanizing, better zinc flow and superior uniformity in the zinc layer. Galfan® Alloy, developed in partnership with ILZRO, adds rare earth elements to the formula, providing incredible durability in hot-dip galvanizing processes.

Zinc Anodes and Powders : From spherical to rectangular, SHG Zinc anodes take on different shapes. Zinc Powders, derived from Zinc SHG or its alloys, find application in the production of alkaline batteries.

By exploring the properties of Zinc SHG, we are opening doors to longer-lasting and more effective solutions.
